NATURE PROGRAMS

WINTER/SPRING NaturePlay School

Nurture your little sprout in our nature-based early childhood program based on the forest school model! Research shows us the numerous advantages to outdoor nature-based exploration and play as the perfect groundwork for meaningful learning and growth. Lyman Woods’ discovery-based NaturePlay School provides this and more! In addition to lessons in creative arts, math, science and language, your child will plant trees, build forts, care for a garden, sing around the campfire, visit with our naturalists, foresters and beekeeper, hike and explore our trails, and spend time each class in the Wild Woods, our popular nature play areas. While we spend as much time as possible in our outdoor classroom of 135 acres of woods, wetlands and prairie, the Interpretive Center serves as our home during inclement weather. The Friday session can be attended as a stand alone one-day session, or can be added to any two-day session to extend the learning and fun. A healthy snack will be provided during each class. 2018-19 NaturePlay School begins the week after Labor Day 2018 and runs until Memorial Day 2019. Class will not be held on District 58 school holidays. Fall 2019-2020 details and early registration will be announced in the Spring 2019 Guide.
