THE FRIENDS SERIES NEW! These skill-building workshops are designed to enhance 4th graders friendship skills. Participants may enroll in one, two or all three workshop subjects. Friends 1.0: For kids, finding their “true north” involves discovering the values, traits, talents, and things that they enjoy, and helps kids understand who they are and what makes them unique. This workshop is designed to use games and activities to help kids recognize their own strengths and limitations and foster a well-grounded sense of confidence and purpose. Friends 2.0: Expanding friend circles and learning to make healthy connections with others is the focus of this workshop. Making new connections is learned and practiced in multiple fun and interactive ways, with a focus on understanding the important differences between fitting in and belonging. Friends 3.0: Friendships can change quickly especially in elementary and middle school. Understanding the reasons why this happens and learning practical skills to navigate the resulting challenges by working through real-life scenarios is the focus of this workshop. NAVIGATE ADOLESCENCE Navigate Adolescence is a Downers Grove based non-profit organization, and dedicated to helping young people in grades K-8 develop and strengthen the skills they need to navigate health self-awareness and friendships. THE ABCS OF FRIENDSHIP NEW! A good friend is one of the best things you can have and one of the best things you can be. These workshops are designed to help early elementary aged kids develop the foundations of friendship including understanding what it means to be a good friend. Through activities, games and crafts, we emphasize the importance of kindness, acceptance and empathy, and explore problem areas in friendships such as teasing, bossiness and exclusion. Please sign up for just one date per grade as the lesson repeats. This in-person digital vision board workshop provides an opportunity for a guided exploration of thoughts, values, and interests and how they shape an individual’s path. Participants will create their own digital vision board using fun presentation software to pull it all together. Each participant will complete a presentation and receive a pdf of their project. This workshop provides a wonderful creative expression for visual and non-visual learners alike.
