TEENWILDERNESS EXPLORERS: 6THTO 8THGRADE

Do you like the great outdoors? Would you like to spend your summer discovering amazing natural areas in the Chicago region, giving back to the environment, and building new skills? If so, then join our Teen Wilderness Explorers! A couple days a week, we’ll explore the wild areas around our base camp at Gilbert Park/Maple Grove Forest Preserve, then spend the rest of the week traveling to different natural areas around the region. One day of adventuring will be our highlighted field trip (details below) and will include a special featured skill or activity for that field trip. Drop off and pick up will be at Gilbert Park each day. Participants may be transported to and from Gilbert Park to other natural areas (including Lyman Woods) for special activities and learning opportunities by Lyman Woods staff. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch and two mid-camp snacks. Weekly fees vary depending on field trip and field trip activities. Camp fee includes camp T-shirt for the first week attended and other tie-dye items for additional weeks. No camp on June 19, July 4 and July 5. When enrolling in Teen Wilderness Explorers, you will automatically be placed on a payment plan. When enrolling, you will be charged an initial $20 payment for each session.
