DANCE CLASSES Our dance classes are centered around offering dancers of all ages and abilities a chance to learn different styles of dance with an emphasis on safe and correct technique. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment that allows all participants an equal opportunity to grow and learn both artistically and physically, while having fun! Class age categories may be overridden at the discretion of the instruction and Recreation Supervisor. STORYBOOK DANCE Dance basics are introduced using the magic of stories! Young dancers will become familiar with beginning ballet and dance terminology and technique while working on following directions, coordination and body awareness. No class June 19 and July 3. Age: 2-3 R/NR: $63/$93 Location: Lincoln Center Instructor: Aimee Frost Class # Date Day Time 3162A15-01 6/12 - 8/7 W 4:05-4:35pm This class will introduce movement exploration that will help increase students’ neural pathways, helping students to become critical thinkers while evolving into skilled dancers. They will explore space, time, and levels while also developing confidence, rhythm, coordination, balance and memory, as well as becoming familiar with basic ballet terminology and technique. PRE-BALLET/TAP I This class introduces dancers to both basic ballet techniques as well as basic tap techniques. Dancers will learn terminology and combinations while developing rhythm, grace and self-confidence! Age: 3-4 R/NR: $115/$145 Location: Lincoln Center Instructor: Aimee Frost Class # Date Day Time 3162A02-01 6/10 - 8/5 M 3:00-3:45pm PRE-BALLET/TAP II This class introduces dancers to both basic ballet techniques as well as basic tap techniques. Dancers will learn terminology and combinations while developing rhythm, grace and self-confidence! Age: 4-6 R/NR: $115/$145 Location: Lincoln Center Instructor: Aimee Frost Class # Date Day Time 3162A03-01 6/10 - 8/5 M 3:50-4:35pm PRE-BALLET/HIPHOP I During the ballet portion of the class, dancers will be taught the classical technique of ballet including terminology and positions. They will also work on strength, balance, flexibility and posture. The hip hop portion will teach popular street moves along with developing a sense of rhythm through hip hop choreography. No class June 19 and July 3.
