After each film there will be a list of provided discussion questions and you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts about the movie (this part is completely optional). Whether you’re a film aficionado or simply enjoy movies, you’re sure to find each Cinema Club both entertaining and enlightening. Free popcorn and water will be provided and pre-registration is required. We’ll cover important knife skills, the right tools to use, and basic sharpening tips to make you more efficient and safer while cooking. Students will take home freshly chopped fruits and vegetables, along with recipes for a simple stir fry and delicious soup! APPLE BUTTER MAKING CLASS

NEW! In this hands-on class, we’ll guide you through making seasonal apple butter using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the Downers Grove farmer’s market. You’ll get a mix of demo and hands on experience as you also learn how to process by hot water canning. Plus, you’ll leave with an 8-ounce jar of your homemade apple butter and all the tips, tools, and resources you need to start canning at home! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to maintain a sourdough starter and mix, shape, score and bake a rustic sourdough bread. Take home goodies include recipes and resources for at home sourdough baking, sourdough starter, a fresh baked sourdough loaf and dough for you to bake at home the next day. Please dress for baking! CARD GROUPS All returning and new players are welcome to attend the game/card group of their choice or multiple groups each week. No previous experience necessary! Coffee and/or refreshments will not be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own coffee/non-alcoholic beverage. All games/activities are self-led, but supplies are provided.
