Angel Tree The Salvation Army and Walmart have collaborated for more than 40 years to give with joy through the Angel Tree program. Recognizing that every child deserves to feel the wonder of the holidays, The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides new clothing and toys to more than one million children in need each year. Once a child is accepted as an angel, donors like you can shop and help bring their holiday wishes to life. Simply pick a tag off the Angel Tree located inside our local Walmart store. Join us as we head to Walmart to shop for this cause! Afterwards, come back to the Lincoln Center for coffee and refreshments. Transportation is provided from the Lincoln Center; purchasing of gifts is on your own. Metropolis Performing Arts: The Christmas Schooner This critically acclaimed musical tells the true story of a Lake Michigan shipping captain who risked his life to share the Christmas spirit. In Manistique, Michigan in the late 1880's, a German-American family is preparing for the holidays when they receive a letter from a cousin in Chicago, who writes with longing about her desire for a Christmas tree like they had growing up in Germany.
