Winnie the Pooh’s 100th Birthday Extravaganza New! Help us celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of the Winnie the Pooh book! We’ll have fun games, crafts and of course a big birthday cake for Winnie, his friends and your family as well. A light picnic lunch of sandwiches, chips, fruits and veggies provided. Character signs from throughout the Park District will be brought back to Lyman Woods to join in the festivities- perfect for a family photo-op. Let’s make these 100 years at the 100-acre wood extra special! Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Please register everyone attending. Winnie the Pooh just can’t get enough honey! Let’s search Winnie’s favorite spots and follow a trail of bees to where the honey is hiding so we can try and sample some of our own. We’ll learn a bit about honeybees and how honey gets harvested along the way. We’ll also play a few honey-themed games, do some honey-inspired crafts and try a sampling of different types of honey. Eeyore’s Birthday Party New! Eeyore feels gloomy because he thinks everyone has forgotten his birthday! Let’s help Pooh and Piglet cheer him up by throwing him a birthday party! We’ll make some handcrafted presents, then go on a hike to Eeyore’s house to celebrate his birthday with gifts, games and food goodies galore! Light snacks/treats will be served. This is a drop-off, youth-only program. Put on your explorer’s hat for an outdoor adventure to the top of the world! Where exactly is the North Pole? Let’s find out together. We’ll prepare with Winnie the Pooh and his friends to gather all the supplies and skills we’ll need to head to the world’s most frozen zones to at last discover the North Pole, learning about arctic wildlife, icebergs and challenges along the way! At the very end we’ll share some cocoa and tasty treats to warm us up. This is a youth-only, drop-off program.
