Archery has been an important part of human culture from ancient times to the modern Olympics. We’ve used the skills to hunt down game or compete in contests. Now it’s your turn to join in on this growing sport. Learn the basics or define your skill. Participants will learn primarily on Compound Bows. Children ages 8 and up and adults alike are welcome! Criteria listed below must be met before participants can move up to a more advanced level for future classes. This is determined by the instructor. If you have signed up for a previous On Target Archery class and wish to find where you place, please contact us. All new participants must start at Beginner Level. Beginner: Demonstrate knowledge of range and equipment safety. Be able to knock arrow indicator fletching out, extend bow arm and hold bow vertical for 10 seconds unaided. Must be able to draw to correct anchor without external help. Intermediate: Demonstrate knowledge of range and equipment safety. Show correct stance and correct shot process from set up through aim and follow through. Participants must be able to consistently hit the target from 60 feet.
