Garden Plot Rentals

Enjoy nature, plant flowers, grow fruits and vegetables for food, and get exercise from the practice of gardening! Learn more about the garden plots and register online at dgparks.org/ garden-plots. The Mar-Duke Farm garden plots are located at 6800 S. Main Street, between Greenbriar Medical Center and Divine Savior Church. Full plots are approximately 20' x 30'. Half plots are approximately 20' x 15'. Six elevated plots, 4' x 11' are available on a first-come, first-served basis to persons with disabilities and gardeners who cannot work at ground level (one per person). Register online at dgparks.org by May 28.

Lyman Woods was preserved through decades of passionate community advocacy. Beginning with the preservation of 81.5 acres approved in a narrow Village Council vote in 1987, residents, Friends of Lyman Woods, and the Pierce Downer’s Heritage Alliance continued to rally support, culminating in a 1996 referendum that passed by just 12 votes and protected an additional 40 acres. Since then, more land has been acquired, restored, and protected, resulting in a 150-acre preserve of oak woods, prairie, and marsh that supports more than 300 native plant species and diverse wildlife. Through ongoing restoration and stewardship, Lyman Woods remains a testament to the community’s commitment to conservation and to providing meaningful outdoor experiences and discovery.
