Teen Wilderness Explorers Do you like the great outdoors? Would you like to spend your summer discovering amazing natural areas in the Chicago region, giving back to the environment, and building new skills? If so, then join our Teen Wilderness Explorers! A couple days a week, we’ll explore the wild areas around our base camp at Gilbert Park/Maple Grove Forest Preserve, then spend the rest of the week traveling to different natural areas around the region. One day of adventuring will be our highlighted field trip and will include a special featured skill or activity for that field trip. Drop off and pick up will be at Gilbert Park each day. Participants may be transported to and from Gilbert Park to other natural areas (including Lyman Woods) for special activities and learning opportunities by Lyman Woods staff. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch and two mid-camp snacks. Camp fee includes camp T-shirt for the first week attended and other tie-dye items for additional weeks. No camp on June 19 or July 3. Teen Fashion Camp New! Spark creativity and style in this playful introduction to sewing! Teens will learn essential hand and machine stitches while creating colorful, hands on projects that make learning fun and approachable. Throughout the week, participants will build confidence, strengthen fine motor skills, and explore basic fashion concepts—from simple design ideas to foundational sewing techniques. This camp is perfect for budding designers or anyone excited to bring their creative visions to life.
