Walking for Wellness Join the Walking for Wellness program with a certified fitness instructor and improve your overall health and well-being one step at a time! You’ll improve walking form, distance, speed, and technique, all while enjoying the great outdoors and connecting with others in the community. A trending health topic will be covered each week. The Walking for Wellness program will utilize various parks in the Downers Grove community. Locations of walk may vary based on weather conditions. In the case of severe weather, the indoor track at the Recreation Center will be utilized. Please wear proper footwear. Nature Walk + Mobility + Mindfulness New! Join us for a calming outdoor workshop designed to help you move gently, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your body in nature. We’ll begin with a slow, mindful nature walk, moving at a relaxed pace that encourages presence, grounding, and sensory awareness. After the walk, we’ll settle onto our mats for soothing mobility work, light stretching, and simple techniques to release tension and support comfortable movement. These movements are slow, accessible, and designed to help you feel more open and at ease. We’ll close with calming breathwork and a short, peaceful sound healing moment to help your body shift into deep relaxation. This workshop is beginner-friendly, low pressure, and the perfect way to enjoy a gentle reset outdoors. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your own yoga mat. This program is not eligible for a Fitness Member rate.
