Youth Outdoor Basketball No previous knowledge of basketball is necessary. Classes will consist of teaching fundamentals of basketball and then playing fun games and modified games using the fundamental principles of basketball that were taught. New and returning students are welcome. Our focus is to take each individual student’s skill to the next level under the guidance of an experienced coach. Prizes will be given. In case of inclement weather, please check Weather Updates at dgparks.org. Make-up classes due to inclement weather will be held on Fridays. No refund will be given if you are unable to attend the make-up. Fencing Fencing is the Olympic sport of swordplay. Enjoy competitive fun safely without “fighting.” Students will learn the basics of attack and defense in fencing. Register with family members or friends to increase the fun! Additional family members receive a 50% discount when registering together. Fencers may choose to share equipment from the club or purchase their own basic set (est. $124). Beginner fencers needs to arrange equipment before first class starts. Simply call fencing club at 630.678.0035 to discuss options. The set given to your fencer is at the discretion of the instructor. Participant must attend first class with their new set in hand. At the end your experience as a beginner, you may have the club buy your equipment at 50% of purchase price. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Pickleball can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels and is a fantastic hobby for young players for the same reason it is great for adults. The nature of the game is a strong equalizer from a skill-based perspective. We will cover pickleball basics such as grip, forehand, backhand and dink shots, serving, and court positioning. Players will also learn scoring and pickleball rules as well as have plenty of time for game play. Equipment will be provided. Bring a labeled water bottle. No class July 2.
