TOUR OF THE OAK HILL & OAK CREST CEMETERIES Take a special tour of the Oak Hill and Oak Crest Cemeteries, two of Downers Grove’s oldest graveyards. Learn about the history of the sites and the lives of significant Downers Grove residents who are buried there, including war veterans from the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. This program meets at the Oak Hill Cemetery main gate. Parking available along Glenview Ave. and Howard Ave. Please dress for the weather. Spanning five decades of popular cocktails you may not have heard of from the 1860s to 1900s. During this program you will learn how to make and do a tasting of each of these pieces of history. Snacks will accompany the beverages. Each drink will be accompanied by fun facts about the drink and the time period of its popularity. Join us at the Downers Grove Museum for a holiday tea in the holiday decorated 1892 Charles Blodgett Victorian House. While you enjoy tea, finger sandwiches and assorted sweets and pastries, listen to holiday music and a short presentation on historic holiday traditions.

Merry & Bright A VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS Get in the holiday spirit here at the Downers Grove Museum! We invite you and your whole family to learn about Victorian Christmas traditions, tour the holiday decorated Blodgett houses, and visit with Santa. Stroll the park on a luminary walk, view holiday decorated trees, and warm up around a campfire as you listen to Victorian era carolers. Please pre-register all attending!
