TREE TO TABLE: APPLE CIDER Come to Lyman Woods to learn all about the transformation of apples into one of America’s most iconic and delectable treats! From apple cultivation and local orchard history, to the making of apple desserts from our Victorian-era recipes, join us for a sweet journey into all things apple cider! Program will be held indoors and outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Please register everyone attending. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Help the Downers Grove Museum get in the holiday spirit by decorating their outdoor evergreen trees. Learn about the history of tree decorating, make your own traditional decorations made with natural materials to take home, and even warm up with some hot chocolate. MOTHER NATURE’S OL’-FASHIONED SWEETSHOP NEW! Let your taste buds lead you into the past with a tempting journey into the world of old-fashioned candies and sweets! We’ll explore the history behind our love of sugary treats from ancient times to the Victorian era, and even make some of your very own to eat and take home using all-natural herbs and sweeteners pulled straight from our garden. Specters & SPIRITS Join us for a spirited exploration of the allegedly haunted Downers Grove Museum, Lincoln Center, and Main Street Cemetery while enjoying a spook-filled evening of some adult fun. Enjoy some light appetizers, before heading on a search for signs of spirits with paranormal experts using real paranormal detection equipment. Fee includes light appetizers and a non-alcoholic beverage.
