ULTIMATE NINJAS SUMMER CAMP

JUST FOR FUN CHESS SCHOLARS CAMP Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. This class will take place at Darien Park District Community Center located at 7301 Fairview Ave., Darien. Current research has found a positive link between learning a second language and cognitive and academic ability. In Amigos Spanish Camp, children will learn numbers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish language. Join us at Ultimate Ninjas for a fun and exciting camp! We’re all about building strength, agility, self-confidence, and continuous improvement—all while having a blast! A camp day in the life of a ninja: Camp kickoff, rules, open gym, warm-ups, ninja warrior obstacles circuit training, and a variety of fitness games in morning and afternoon sessions. LITTLE DOCTOR SCHOOLCAMP

Camp participants will role-play the key responsibilities of a doctor and learn about vital organs in the human body. These future doctors will learn how to use a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and reflex hammer. They will practice administering first aid, learn how pharmacists play a role in administering medications, and more! This camp will take place at the Fred C. Hohnke Community Center located at 2600 Center Dr., Woodridge. Age: 6-10 R/NR: $315/$345
