FISHING CLUB Do you love everything about fishing? Are you looking for a way to learn more about fish and their watery world? You’re in luck! We’re the Fishing Club where you’ll get to explore all about fish and meet others with a similar passion! We’ll learn about different types of fishing, water safety, cleaning and eating fish and more! Each session is a different topic but will always include fishing. Bring your own fishing rod and equipment or borrow one of ours. We’ll have plenty of extra rods, lures and bait for everyone. In good weather we’ll be at Patriots Park/Barth Pond, but indoors at Lyman Woods in case of inclement weather to work on our more technical skills! This is a drop-off, youth/teen-only program. Join us in your neighborhood park to enjoy fun stories, interactive games, and meet a featured animal from our nature center! Rascal Raccoon, our cheerful Lyman Woods friend, will lead the story-time and activities while you eat a seasonal treat and learn about local wildlife at the same time! Park location and times change program to program, so please look carefully at locations and times listed below. Please register everyone attending. FAMILY FISHING FUN! Interested in taking your family fishing but don’t know where to start? Join us for this fun fishing class! You’ll learn about the parts of the pole, how to safely cast, bait, and reel in a rod, and hopefully catch some fish in the process! Bait and fishing rods will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Fee is for child/parent pair. Please register each child attending. Incredible builds and creations can be found in the natural world. From crafty beavers making dams, mud and stick forts, to new waterways. Join us each month to try out a new nature-inspired build and games to get your hands dirty and learn about engineering in the wild world. We’ll provide waders and all the tools so you can stay dry but please still dress to get messy. This is a youth-only, drop-off program. If you want to help fight food waste or build a beautiful sustainable garden, then join us as we dig into the basics of building your own compost bin and all of the composting do’s and do not’s. You will even get to take home some of Lyman Woods’ very own starter compost that’s full of beneficial bacteria to help you dive into decomposition! Please register everyone attending.
