SEARS AND HISTORIC HOMES WALKING TOUR NEW! In the early 20th century, numerous Downers Grove residents purchased homes straight out of mail order catalogs. Take a 60-minute narrated walking tour with our museum staff as we discuss these Sears homes and other unique historic homes. Some parts of this walking tour may not be ADA accessible. All children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Toddlers in strollers and carriers are free with a registered adult. NEW! Join us at the Downers Grove Museum as we celebrate the 160th birthday of distinguished Downers Grove native Dr. James Henry Breasted! He contributed greatly to the study of ancient cultures, including the excavation of King Tut’s tomb, inspiring the Hollywood character, Indiana Jones! We’ll have snacks, and play activities inspired by Ancient Egypt, and much more! All children must be registered with a registered adult. This event will be in conjunction with a free lecture to be hosted at the Downers Grove Public Library on Aug. 28. Group TOURS During your guided tour, you’ll visit the footprint of the Blodgett family cabin, discuss the 1850s, visit the Pioneer Blodgett House, and learn
about the 1890s inside of the Victorian Blodgett House. SCHOOL TOURS: $62 per class per 1-1.5 hour tour GROUP TOURS: $35 for up to 10 people
