FITNESS FOR PICKLEBALL Pickleball is now the fastest growing sport in America! The goal of this class is to increase overall strength, as well as improve endurance, speed, and agility on the court to prevent the most common injuries in pickleball. Floorwork may be involved. Mats will be provided and modifications will be demonstrated. Please note that this is a fitness class is designed to enhance injury prevention, balance, and agility specifically for pickleball players. This is not a pickleball instructional class. 4500 Fitness Members who hold an active membership will receive a discounted fee when added to the cart. No class June 19. This class, led by a Parkinson’s fitness specialist, focuses on improving mobility for those with Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. It includes safe, posture-focused strengthening exercises, emphasizing breathing, balance, and rhythmical movement. Participants will use light weights and bands to build strength and range of motion through seated or standing exercises. 4500 Fitness Members who hold an active membership will receive a discounted fee when added to the cart. PILATES WITH MELT ROLLERS

Find your center of gravity by using MELT rollers, a 36-inch soft roller. Experience a posture change by re-hydrating and lengthening techniques done with the MELT moves. Core Pilate moves will be learned along with reintegrating and re-pattering exercises to assist the body in functioning properly. Instructor is Stott Pilates and MELT Neuro-Strength trained. 4500 Fitness Members who hold an active membership will receive a discounted fee when added to the cart. Age: 15+ Min/Max: 5/20 FM/R/NR: $72/$82/$112 Location: Downers Grove Recreation Center Instructor: Linda Ruff Class # Date Day Time 3301J13-01 6/2 - 7/7 M 7:30-8:25pm 3301J13-02 7/14 - 8/18 M 7:30-8:25pm TAI CHI Tai Chi is a low-impact, slow-motion meditation that’s gentle on the joints and proven to improve balance, coordination, and prevent falls, especially in older adults. Suitable for all ages, it’s a therapeutic practice for many chronic conditions and one of the fastest-growing exercises worldwide. This 5-week beginner program introduces Tai Chi basics, starting with Qigong meditation for relaxation, followed by step-by-step instruction in Tai Chi Form. Please note: This program is contractual and not eligible for a Fitness Member rate.
