FAMILY FISHING FUN! Interested in taking your family fishing but don’t know where to start? Join us at Patriots Park for this fun fishing class! You’ll learn about the parts of the pole, how to safely cast, bait, and reel in a rod, and hopefully catch some fish in the process! Bait and fishing rods will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Fee is for adult/child pair, please register each child attending. For Families KID CURATOR SHOWCASE NEW! Hey, young explorers! Get ready to share your coolest nature collections during our brand-new Kid Curator Showcase! This is your chance to be the star of the month by displaying your favorite outdoor treasures at the Lyman Woods Interpretive Center. We’ll provide the exhibit case and installation help. All you need to do is bring your nature-based keepsakes and your ideas for displaying them. Whether you’re into bugs, birds, or birch bark, this showcase is all about celebrating the wild, wonderful world we all love, and giving you the chance to tell your own story! Collection ideas can include rocks, leaves, plastic animals, plush toys, photos, favorite nature books, or any other nature-based item you collect. Registration required. Winners selected for each month based on a lottery. Details for the showcase will be emailed to initial participants by Friday, May 16, but registration will remain open to new participants until June 1. CUDDLY CROCHETED CRITTERS Love cute and cuddly animals? Then why not make your own! In this 2-week beginner crocheting class, you will learn the Japanese art of Amigurumi, the knitting or crocheting of adorable yarn animals. We’ll provide the patterns, yarn, hooks and all the guidance you’ll need to make a soft and cuddly duck and start other animals if there’s additional time. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Please register everyone attending.
