INTRO TO SEWING NEW! Join us on an exciting journey into the world of sewing! In this class, you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine, sew simple stitches, and create cool projects like cozy pillowcases or colorful bags. With easy-to follow instructions and lots of hands-on practice, you’ll be making your own creations in no time! Once upon a time, there was a kid who loved telling stories and expressing themselves through writing. If this sounds like your kid, this class is for them! Each time we meet, we’ll learn about a literary device and put it into practice through fun writing prompts (notebook provided). No one will be stuck at a desk the whole time. We’ll move around the room and find new ways to get into the flow. Participants can share their writing with the group if they want to, but no pressure. This class is all about exploring what’s possible on the page! Fee includes instruction, a notebook, and art supplies to use during class. No class March 31. CHESS SCHOLARS Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance children’s motivation, concentration, focus, social skills and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Your kids can have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy globally-inspired recipes! Our interactive cooking classes incorporate S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, geography, history and more. Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes (all seasonal and as local as possible!), master culinary skills (that they can put to use in family kitchens!), and nourish their bodies and minds. Our talented and experienced Chef Instructors bring all of the ingredients, district approved equipment and supplies to lead an engaging, fun and interactive cooking class with your young chefs in training.
