EARTH WEEK CELEBRATIONS APRIL 21 TO 27 Discover new ways to give back and honor Mother Nature this spring! Earth Week, the 7-day celebration that encompasses the Earth Day (April 22) and Arbor Day (April 25) holidays, is a weeklong series of festivities and programs for participants both young and old to connect with nature. Check out one of the special programs below to find fun ways to help restore our local environment, to learn something new and to make cherished memories with friends and family. EARTH WEEK VOLUNTEER DAY Celebrate Earth Week with the Downers Grove Park District and beautify your local parks for spring! Volunteers will help prepare the parks for the season by mulching trees, picking up sticks and debris, and by removing trash at each location. Gloves, tools and staff assistance will be provided. Please dress for the weather and to get messy. All volunteers will receive light snacks and an oak seedling to plant at home. Individuals, organizations or volunteer groups are invited to lend a hand! A signup form will be available at dgparks.org beginning April 1.
