Chess Scholars Spring Break Camp
Hand Sewing New! Let your child’s fine motor skills flourish while they cultivate patience and build confidence. Join us in this beginner-level class where participants will learn the art of hand sewing. Through step-by-step instructions, children will master threading a needle and various hand stitches. They’ll learn to sew on a button and create a cute seasonal decoration to take home. This is a drop-off class.
Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! This half-day camp is perfect for beginners as well as experienced players. Each day of camp will consist of a fun interactive teaching period, followed by guided practice time, allowing the students to play against one another while being coached by an experienced instructor. The camp session will conclude with a non elimination tournament. Spend some quality time learning a new skill with your child! This class is designed for an adult and child to work together as a team to discover the satisfying and fun art of sewing. Together you will learn sewing machine terminology, how to thread a machine, and install a bobbin. Each pair will create a beginner-friendly project to take home! Fee includes one child and one adult. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Non enrolled siblings, including infants in carriers, will not be allowed in the class.

Sticky Fingers Cooking Join our ‘COOL’inary Cooking Club! Your kids can have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy globally-inspired recipes! Our interactive cooking classes incorporate S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, geography, history and more. Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes (all seasonal and as local as possible!), master culinary skills (that they can put to use in family kitchens), and nourish their bodies and minds. Our talented and experienced Chef Instructors bring all of the ingredients, district approved equipment and supplies to lead an engaging, fun, and interactive cooking class with your young chefs in training. Intro to Sewing Has your child always wanted to learn to use a sewing machine? We’ve got you covered! No prior sewing experience is needed. You’ll learn to identify the different parts of the machine, thread the machine and install the bobbin. There will be plenty of time to practice perfecting your first stitches. You’ll create a pillowcase or other beginner-friendly project to take home. Come discover the joy of creating with your own two hands!
