BUILD A SCARECROW Join us in spending a day outside in the Fall weather surrounded by changing leaves with your family. We’re going to play some games, learn about the importance of scarecrows, and get to build your own! The best part about this class is you’ll bring home your very own scarecrow. Fee is per Family (up to 6 people). Please register one family member, an adult must accompany their child(ren). Infant siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend but do not need to register. Come to our brand-new critter workshop and design your new best buddy! Each child will receive one teddy bear and have the chance to stuff, dye/decorate, and make crafts like hats and scarves for their new furry friend. This is a youth-only, drop-off program. Learn how bees make honey and see firsthand how honey is extracted. Try your hand with the hot knife or extractor and have a taste of wild Lyman Woods honey. Fee is per person, so please register everyone who will be attending. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. LYMAN WOODS SCARECROW CONTEST

Take part in a festive “Scarecrow Contest” at Lyman Woods! This contest is open to all organizations, civic groups, families and businesses, so rally up your Scout Troop, local club or officemates. Groups can choose to construct either a traditional scarecrow, or a sharecrow. A sharecrow is made with wildlife-friendly edible ingredients. Prizes for the contest include a 1-1.5 hour free program at Lyman Woods and in-person recognition at a Park Board meeting. Scarecrows will be displayed along the trails at Lyman Woods from Oct. 4 through Nov. 9 for all to see! Only one person per group needs to register. Once you sign up you will receive an emailed application to complete and return. Age: All Min/Max: 1/50 Fee: $16 William F Sherman Jr Interpretive Center - Lyman Woods Class # Date 4500H52-01 10/4 - 11/9 FARM TO TABLE: PUMPKIN PIE NEW! Come to Lyman Woods to learn all about the transformation of pumpkins into one of America’s most iconic and delectable treats! From pumpkin cultivation and local farm history, to the making of pumpkin desserts from our Victorian-era recipes, join us for a scrumptious journey into all things pumpkin pie! Program will be held indoors and outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Please register everyone attending. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
