Walking for WELLNESS Join the Walking for Wellness program with a certified fitness instructor, and improve your overall health and well-being one step at a time! In this 6-week session, you’ll improve walking form, distance, speed, and technique, all while enjoying the great outdoors and connecting with others in the community. 4500 Fitness Members who hold an active membership will receive a discounted fee when added to the cart. HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT OTHER TOPICS SUCH AS: Proper footwear Exercises for better walking Safety/awareness Meditation walking Warm-up and cool down stretches Strength/balance training and why they are important for walking Mental and physical health benefits of walking The Walking for Wellness program will utilize various parks in the Downers Grove community. Locations of walk may vary based on weather conditions. In the case of inclement weather, the indoor track at the Recreation Center will be utilized. For Kids YOGA FOR LITTLE KIDS

Come stretch, breathe, create, move and have fun! Kids will have the opportunity to be silly, release energy, and relax. Yoga introduces a mindful way of using your body at a young age. Classes include breathing, poses, games, stories and more! Your little yogi will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social skills, and learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. It is suggested that your child bring a stuffed animal or toy to class. Parents are required to stay during the class, but participation in activities is not required. Children will experience the benefits of yoga that transcends beyond their mat and into daily activities. Yoga improves flexibility, self-confidence, awareness, focus and calmness. This class explores yoga poses, breathing techniques, and self-calming tools—all while having fun! Children should dress in comfortable clothes. Parents are welcome to be in the room for class, but it is not required.
