Celebrate Earth Week with the Downers Grove Park District and beautify your local parks for spring! Volunteers will help prepare the parks for the season by mulching trees, picking up sticks and debris, and by removing trash at each location. Gloves, tools and staff assistance will be provided. Please dress for the weather and to get messy. All volunteers will receive light snacks and an oak seedling to plant at home. Individuals, organizations or volunteer groups are invited to lend a hand! A signup form will be available at dgparks.org beginning April 1. WINTERGOLF   Belmont Golf Club stays open until the snow falls in the winter and reopens as early as possible in the spring. Hours are dependent on the weather. Reserve your tee time up to seven days in advance by calling 630.963.1306 or online at belmontgolfclub.org. If tee times are available online, the course is open for play.

DRIVINGRANGE   The Driving Range at the Belmont Golf Club offers a range shelter covering 10 of the 24 hitting stations featuring seating, infrared heaters and ceiling fans that provide a comfortable golf experience even on rainy and cold days. The covered stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Target areas are located throughout the range and are prominently marked. The range also features a large practice putting green, sand trap and chipping area.     Buckets may be purchased directly at the ball dispenser using a credit card during open and closed Clubhouse hours. We are happy to provide loaner clubs for use on the range by golfers of all ages.

GOLF PROGRAMS

PERMANENTTEETIMES   The Belmont Golf Club offers 6 months of reserved tee times on Sunday mornings. Fees are just $125 per foursome ($31.25 per player). The 2024 season runs April 7 to Sept. 29. Permanent tee times begin at 6:00am and continue through 10:00am.   Complete foursomes are required to obtain a permanent tee time. Players are responsible for payment of their green fees each week. A priority registration process for our 2023 season permanent tee time holders takes place in February. Open tee times become available on a first- come, first-served basis beginning in March. To obtain a permanent tee time, stop by the Clubhouse after March 1, 2024.       

CLUBHOUSE RENTALS Host your next event with us! Clubhouse rentals are available from November through March. The newly renovated Dan A. Cermak Clubhouse at the Belmont Golf Club offers a park-like setting and a scenic panorama for the perfect off-season social gathering, group meeting, corporate function or holiday party! Hosts can choose their own caterer; cash bar service is available. Rental includes use of the main and south rooms and can accommodate up to 65 people Rental Fee: $150 per hour with a 3-hour minimum To reserve the Clubhouse, call us at 630.963.1306

Choose from a variety of skills—from gaining speed and distance, improved putting technique and short game. Put the time in this year to enrich your golf game. JUNIORACES   Our certified golf professionals help junior golfers develop the confidence, independence and focus needed for the great game of golf. Grouped by age and ability, instruction will include the basics of the golf swing, etiquette, woods, irons and the short game. Camps meet Monday to Thursday for 45 minutes. Each weekly session includes an evening of supervised course play on the Friday of that session at 7:00pm. Practice balls and USGA rules book are provided. A limited number of loaner clubs are available to be shared. We ask that golfers bring their own clubs if they have access to a set. Pine Hollow OPEN   The Belmont Golf Club and Downers Grove Historical Society have teamed up to bring you the 46th annual Pine Hollow Open. All golfers 18 years of age and up are eligible to compete in this 9-hole stroke play event. Tee times begin at 11:00am and continue until all of the golfers have teed off. FENCING Fencing is the Olympic sport of swordplay. This sport inherently practices social distancing. Enjoy competitive fun safely without “fighting” Students will learn the basics of attack and defense in fencing. Register with family members or friends to increase the fun! Additional family members receive a 50% discount when registering together. Instructor considers the height and ability of each fencer. Fencers may choose to rent personal equipment or to purchase their own basic set (est. $111). To rent a personal set of equipment, contact Fencing Sports Club on voice only number 630.678.0035 to share body size and then you will simply attend the first class of the beginner session. When you rent a set, no one is guaranteed perfect fitting club equipment. The set given to your fencer is at the discretion of the instructor. Meeting two times per week with our Spartz Sportz basketball trainers, your child will learn the basics and gain confidence in their dribbling, passing, shooting and basketball IQ with their friends. This is a great way to get acclimated with Chicagoland’s premier basketball training organization at a young age.
